Organic bulgur wheat groats Probably not everyone has heard of bulgur. It is a crushed durum wheat that is a great alternative to refined wheat products. But it’s not just a practical alternative, it’s also a nutritious one: bulgur is a source of a number of vitamins and minerals that also boasts a high fibre content. Prepared “bulgur” sticks have a nutty flavour, chew longer, are richer in nutrients than rice or couscous, and contain more fibre, protein, vitamins and minerals: they are high in calcium, phosphorus and iron. Pour boiled water over the washed bulgur sticks (1 glass of sticks requires 1½ glasses of water) and boil on a gentle heat for 10-12 minutes. NB!
